Kilmeena Village
A vibrant village centre is proposed consisting of mixed tenure housing & community facilities based on the clustered layout of the “clachan”. Informal set backs create organic sheltered communal spaces and neighbourhood meeting points. Landscape elements such as stone walls screens stone benches and garden buildings are carefully detailed to provide screening, shelter, visual interest and enclosure. A street line for future expansion is defined opposite the existing church. To reduce height & bulk narrow span roof spaces are inhabited. Living spaces have triple aspect to maximise sunshine.
